Travel Lift and Hardstand Supervisor

Our marina is coming back in-house over the coming months and we are building a new team. The purpose of the role is to safely and efficiently operate the haul out facility and hardstand at the Marina.

 

As the Travel Lift and Hardstand Supervisor you will:

 

  • Oversee the daily activities of the boatyard
  • Deliver strong customer service to all marina customers
  • Take a safety first approach, to manage multiple hazards and risks on site
  • Coach and develop the Yard Hand
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships

 

It's hands on practical work which will suit someone with prior marina experience.  Please check out the competencies below and let us know in your cover letter how we're a great match for each other:

 

  • Mechanical knowledge of diesel engines and lifting equipment
  • Vessel knowledge: Basic construction, hull configuration, maintenance and operation of sail and power boats
  • Strong communication skills (ability to quickly build positive working relationships with customers, contractors and internal team members)
  • Supervising and developing team members
  • Writing standard operating procedures 
  • Computer literate (able to use MS Office packages)
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. travel lift, heavy machinery, elevated platform, forklift licence)
  • Physically able to perform the tasks of the role
