Senior Planner and Planner - Resource and Consents
- Technical resource consents expertise
- Leadership opportunity
- Bring your creativity
Are you an experienced Planner seeking diversity in your work and ready to take that next step in your career? As the result of growth, we have an opportunity for a Senior Planner and a Planner in our resource consents team, which will draw on your technical expertise (processing regional, land use and subdivision applications) and your leadership ability in a Unitary Authority context.
Our team has the unique opportunity to process a stimulating range of notified and non-notified consents ranging from waterfront and inner city apartments, comprehensive housing developments, water permits, air and coastal discharges with a significant and complex science component, hillside earthworks and subdivisions, to the more conventional resource consents. It is also a dynamic time for development in Nelson due to rapid growth and a high demand for residential land, resulting in a fast paced work environment and varied workload.
What makes this role even more attractive is our team culture. The sharing of knowledge and resources, the support offered each other to be successful, and the ongoing training opportunities available within the team and externally in the organisation are some of the elements we are proud of. Our team consists of Graduate Planners, Planners, Senior Planners, a Principal Planner, a Principal Development Adviser, Team Leader and a Manager, offering multiple opportunities for career advancement.
Bring your creativity as we are always looking for ways to improve what we do, to help ourselves and our customers.
To be successful in your application, a relevant qualification is required and ideally you will have experience as a Planner within a Unitary Authority or both regional and district Councils. Our Senior Planner role will have one direct report, so experience leading or mentoring others would be an advantage,as would experience with processing subdivions for both our Senior Planner and Planner role.
