Activity Engineer Regional Sewerage and Landfill Services

The partnering of Nelson City Council and Tasman District Council to jointly manage wastewater treatment and landfill services presents a unique opportunity for an Activity Engineer (Asset Manager) position, spanning both regions.

 

Reporting to the General Manager Regional Sewerage and Landfill Services, you will be responsible for leading the development of both the Sewerage and Landfill Activity Management Plans. You will also be responsible for the development and review of policies and strategies to ensure that Sewerage and Landfill infrastructure and services are maintained, renewed and upgraded for a sustainable future.

 

The programme of work is set by the joint committees of the Nelson Regional Sewerage Business Unit and the Nelson-Tasman Regional Landfill Business Unit, comprising of representatives of Nelson City Council, Tasman District Council, industry representatives and iwi. You will nurture effective relationships with the key stakeholders through the provision of strategic advice often via workshops, quality reporting, and the delivery of the Activity Management Plans and Strategies.

 

We are interested to learn about your activity management expertise with wastewater treatment and/or landfill services. Your relevant experience might be evidenced from your background in project, civil engineering, local government or multi-disciplinary consultancy environments. You will have a solid knowledge and understanding of local government and consenting processes, design principles, relevant legislation and quality standards. Ideally, you will have a minimum of 10+ years of experience leading and delivering activity management plans and hold relevant tertiary qualifications.
